Apac District Reports Progress in Implementation of Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation Project to Stakeholders

Apac, Uganda— The Apac District Local Government, through the Department of Production, has issued a status update on the ongoing implementation of the Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation (UCSAT) Project in the district.

Launched in December 2024, the UCSAT project aims to build the resilience of farming communities to climate change through the promotion of sustainable agricultural practices, improved access to climate-resilient technologies, and enhanced market linkages.

Apac Commissions Beneficiary Groups Under Special Grants in the District

Apac, Uganda— The Government of Uganda, through the Ministry of Gender, Labor, and Social Development, in partnership with the Apac District Local Government, has today commissioned a new cohort of beneficiary groups under the Special Enterprise Grant for Older Persons (SEGOP) and the National Special Grant for Persons with Disabilities (NSG-PWDs).

Distribution of Micro-Scale Irrigation Equipment worth Over 300 Million Shillings to Farmers in Apac District

Apac, 23 May, 2025 – The Government of Uganda through the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) and Apac District Local Government, successfully distributed micro-scale irrigation equipment worth 366,797,000 million shillings to farmers in the district. This significant initiative aims to empower local farmers, improve agricultural productivity, and strengthen food security within the district.

Apac District Forestry Sector Distributes Tree Seedlings to Leaders and Communities in Effort to Boost Environmental Conservation

The exercise aims to enhance forest cover, restore degraded landscapes, and encourage community participation in conservation efforts.

Distribution of 105 Ox Ploughs and 3 Grinding Mills to Boost Agricultural Productivity in Apac District

Apac District, Uganda — [29/4/2025]
In a significant step toward improving agricultural productivity and rural livelihoods, Ministry of Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) in collaboration with the Apac District Local Government has successfully distributed 105 ox ploughs and 3 grinding mills to selected beneficiaries across the district.

Construction of Atopi – Anyapo – Ayeng Road Excites Residents

Residents of Atopi, Anyapo and Ayeng are pleased and excited as the construction of Atopi-Anyapo-Ayeng continues, promising to transform connectivity and ease access to essential services in the area.

The project, implemented under the National Oil Seed Project, is valued at Shs 1.2 billion. Construction works kicked off on 26th March 2025, and according to the Project Manager Mr. Asiimwe Wilbert, progress now stands at 12% and planned progress for next month is 25%.

Apac hands over the water projects costing over 400m to contractors

In a bid to improve safe water coverage within the District, Apac planned for ten boreholes and a piped water system at a tune of 460, 029, 962 million for the running FY 2024/2025, sites were handed over on 5/5/2025.

The site handover was officiated by the Deputy Resident District Commissioner Ms. Joan Apio and Secretary Health and Education Mr. Opira Sam for District Chairperson in the company of the Principal Assistant Secretary Ms. Janet Odongo.

Apac District Chairperson applauds Kayunga District leadership during the benchmarking visit to the District

Apac District Leadership led by the District Chairperson and Speaker had a benchmark visit to Kayunga District Local Government.

The visit focused on sharing experience and performance in the two Districts in similar activities. Apac leaders identified Kayunga base on her performance within a short period of existence compared to Apac that have been in existence from 1974.

The delegates focused on the following areas to benchmark on;

1.     Revenue performance with reflection on Departmental contribution.
