CAO MONITORS COMPLETED AND ONGOING ROAD WORKS IN APAC DISTRICT FOR FY 2024/2025

The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Apac District, Mr. Olaboro Emmy Ejuku, concludes the two-day comprehensive monitoring exercise of ongoing road rehabilitation and maintenance works across the District done in the Financial Year 2024/2025, which started on 21st-22nd October, 2025.

The monitoring exercise, conducted in collaboration with the District Engineer, aims to ensure that the implementing teams adhere to approved standards, timelines, and contractual obligations. It also seeks to assess the quality and progress of works funded under the Uganda Road Fund (URF) and other government development programs.

Speaking during the inspection, the CAO emphasized the government’s commitment to transparency, value for money, and improved service delivery in the roads sector.

“We need to be committed to ensure that every shilling allocated for infrastructure development directly benefits our people through better and more accessible roads. Monitoring is key to accountability and sustainability,” the CAO noted.

The monitored roads include

1. Abuli-Iwal-Malaba Market -----10km

2. Olelpek-Obani -------8 km

3.     Olelpek-Awila --------23 Km (5 planned)

4.     Amun- Onyany ---------16 km (10 planned)

5. Barokworo-Apere -------5.6 km

6. Apere-Corner Olelo ------7 km

7. Ibuje-Abongokongo-Corner 4 --------12 km

8.     Corner Amii-Ayumi-Ayago ---------16 km (10 planned)

9. Awiri-Alworoceng ------7.5 km

10. Awiri-Adok-Alelkolil -------7 km

11. Abutaber-Ilee ----- 14 km

12. Barodilo-Acok-Agong --------5.1 km

13. Anywargiki-Adon—11 km (7 planned)

14. Apac-Atar --------9 km, which are critical for improving transportation, trade, and access to social services within the District.

During the visits, the CAO urged operators to expedite completion without compromising quality and encouraged engineers to actively supervise the works being done.

The District Engineer, Mr. Gastone Olal Owiny, reported that most of the road projects are on schedule, with some completed and others remaining for final biting, like opening offshoots. He reaffirmed that the Engineering Department is dedicated to maintaining the road network to support local economic growth and connectivity.

Apac District Local Government reiterates its commitment to ensuring transparency, efficiency, and accountability in all infrastructure projects to foster sustainable development and improve the livelihoods of residents.
