CAO Engages Management and Staff of Apac General Hospital on Service Delivery Improvement

Apac District, Uganda—23rd June 2025

In a significant move aimed at enhancing health service delivery in the district, the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Apac, Mr. Muboki Paul, convened a high-level meeting with the management and staff of Apac General Hospital on 19th June 2025. The engagement was held at the hospital boardroom and brought together key hospital administrators, health workers, and district health officials.

The meeting served as a platform to openly discuss the operational challenges, resource constraints, and performance issues affecting the hospital. In his remarks, the CAO emphasized the district’s commitment to strengthening healthcare systems and ensuring that all citizens have access to quality and timely medical services.

“We are here to listen, to understand the root causes of the service gaps, and to jointly develop practical solutions,” Mr. Muboki stated. He commended the staff for their resilience and dedication, particularly in the face of limited resources and increasing patient load.

Key issues raised during the meeting included staff shortages, promotions, equipment breakdowns, delayed salary payments, staff allowances, and poor staff housing conditions. In response, the CAO pledged to escalate the concerns to relevant authorities and initiate district-level interventions, including improved coordination with the Ministry of Health and development partners.

Hospital management, led by Mr. Onuk Joseph, expressed gratitude for the engagement, describing it as a morale booster for the staff. “This level of support and dialogue from the district leadership should bring a long-lasting change in handling affairs at the facility for the betterment of our team. We believe it will lead to real change,” Mr. Onuk said.

The meeting concluded with a commitment from both the hospital staff and district leadership to maintain regular engagements, implement agreed action points, and monitor progress towards improved healthcare delivery in Apac District.
