Apac leaders advised sensitize community members about Laws and applicability

The Judicial Service Commission as mandated by the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda to prepare and implement programmes for education and sensitization of the public organized a workshop on Law and Administration of Justice in Uganda at the District Hall.

The Deputy Registrar at JSC, Faridah Semyano told leaders that there are a lot that the Commission can do to help communities in Judicial seek and proceedings but they are unaware. There is need to sensitize the leaders who can cascade the information to their electorates so that we create harmony among us.

The Chief Magistrate Apac Magistrate Court, Ms. Amono Monica said people are not aware of the laws that protects them which is leading to suicides and violence among communities.

She said the most rampant cases in court these days are on land conflict where neighbors are dragging land with one another. There is provision of dialogue where political and Clan leaders has to take it up.

She also noted the rampant cases of infant abuse of drugs that has caused a lot of discomfort in our communities which needs sensitization of the parents to take proper care of the children.

The district leaders were equipped with knowledge on laws regarding Lands, infants, environment, families and local council courts mandates.
