Apac Speaker advises DEC to update Council on Resolution implementation
By Patrick Opio
Apac District Council speaker, Ambrose Yine has encouraged members of District Executive Committee (DEC) to regularly update LC5 councillors on the implementation of Council resolutions.
“By way of presenting government business, DEC is expected to inform the Council in its subsequent sittings on the status of implementation of council decisions,” Yine saidthis while presiding over council meeting in March 2014.
Chief Administrative Officer, Andrew Leru, while in his office, said that nearly 90% of Council resolutions are always implemented, except where such resolution has far reaching financial or legal implications.
Leru advised that implemented council resolutions, by way of information, be presented in Standing Committee meetings; after-all minutes from such sittings are distributed to all councillors in form of reports during main council sessions.
