The Speaker of Apac Municipality Hon. Hanington Otim set an embargo over the ongoing administration block in a council meeting on Wednesday 12th July, 2017.
A total of 2.2 b was stipulated for the entire completion of Apac Council administration block in preference for a storey building (flat). However, it was found out that the initial plan was changed to bungalow plan. This attracted a petition from some municipality councilors headed by Hon. Geoffrey Ococ for debate in the council meeting.
The Chief Petitioner who represents Akere division petitioned against an allegation that municipal executives had changed the initial plan of the administration block. He posed questions as to why didn’t the plan reach the council? And who approved the plan of the ongoing construction, rendering the ongoing construction as illegal.
The acting Mayor of the Municipality His Worship Jimmy Okello stated clearly, that nobody had changed any plan and if there is any proof then it should be revealed out.
